As a licensed esthetician, you would be able to give your clients facials. You would know how to cleanse the skin and give your clients facials. You would also learn how to tone the skin, exfoliate the skin, treat the skin with warm and sold compresses, and perform facial massages. You would also know how to facials personalize them for your clients.

As an esthetician, one of your main responsibilities is makeup application for clients. In school, you would learn the most current makeup trends and techniques. You would know how to blend your client’s skin tone with matching foundation. You would know all about highlighting and contouring, applying false eyelashes, and creating a smoky eye look. If you are considering a career in television or theater, you will learn special effects makeup skills.

Body Treatments
As an esthetician, you would learn not only to treat the face, but the whole body as well. You will learn how to give a client a body mask, scrub, and body wraps.

Hair Removal
As an esthetician, you would need to learn about hair removal. Eyebrow shaping, waxing, threading, and tweezing are all skills that you would learn in school.

Preparation for State Boards
In order to be a licensed esthetician, you must pass the state boards. In esthetician school, your instructors will prepare you for the boards so that you pass the test when the time comes.

Being a licensed esthetician is a great way to make a living. You get to work with different people all day, performing different procedures. This is a job that is not monotonous and it never gets boring.
